Hope Is Alive #18

This original artwork combines a The Daily Oklahoman newspaper wax plate with a sculptural blue heart made from collaged acrylic paint. It is finished in a silver frame measuring 2 inches wide, creating a clean, contemporary presentation with plenty of character.

Hope Is Alive Series

Created in the summer of 2025, the series began during a playful weekend in the studio, when Katherine revisited paintings, paint palettes, and handmade papers collected over many years. By combining treasured materials from the past with new ideas, she created expressive works about renewal, creativity, and hope.

Every heart in the series is unique, made with unusual textures, layered materials, and found pieces. Each is crafted with care by Katherine Sanders.
