Awakening Painting

Born from the beautiful chaos of Katherine Sanders’ studio, this original abstract floral painting began on a brown-paper table covering. Splashes and stray marks left by other projects became its first layer. From that unexpected ground, a vase and flowers emerge, their shapes spilling into the surrounding paint.

The mixed-media work is dry-mounted and floated on white mat board, then finished in a custom gold bamboo frame. It is framed without glass, leaving its texture and layered details open to view.
