That's What She Said

An apple. Such a loaded symbol — Eden, Snow White, the teacher’s desk. And yet here it is, cradled in a mother’s hands, offered with nothing but love.

That’s What She Said sits with the beautiful tension of maternal wisdom: the counsel given freely, shaped by a lifetime of experience, and yet inevitably limited by it. Mom means well — she always does. But the apple carries its mythology with it. The same fruit that promised knowledge in the garden, that lulled a princess to sleep, now rests in familiar hands, extended toward us with the best of intentions.

This piece is an attempt to hold both truths at once — the deep nurturing of a mother’s love and the quiet weight of knowing that our own words will one day land just as heavily in our children’s lives.
