This piece was created after the death of my father. He slowly declined with illness and it was a sweet and sad process of watching his world grow smaller and dimmer. The lyrics of the Led Zepplin song Stairway to Heaven perfectly describe the idea behind this piece. The vibrant circles at the bottom of the piece symbolize for me the beautiful life each of us builds and the communities we form. Yet in aging and in death we let all of those people go.
